Conditions of hire
General As a charity we strive to keep our costs low, the conditions of hire indicate your responsibilities however if you wish the centre to clean up for you after hire, this must be indicated in advance.Any damage caused over and above the deposit will be recoverable from the hirer.It is in the interest of the hirer to sign over the rooms back to the temple immediately after use. • Your booking will be confirmed upon receipt of the deposit as stated above.Hirer to confirm entry has been made in diary. • User will take full responsibility of the Priest’s travel arrangements and time keeping for his services outside the premises of the Charity. • Priest cannot be booked to leave the premises during temple opening hours,the only exception to this is for funerals. • User would also take full responsibility of cleaning and tidying the halls and rooms after the use, and that of the furniture hired out from the Charity’s premises. • Untidy kitchen, Halls and rooms loose deposit All damages, breakages to be paid off by the User.This will be over and above loss of deposit • Hire of any part of the Reading Hindu Temple premises is at your own risk. • Awareness of our food policy-private functions are allowed to have food brought in however this may not be distributed during temple opening hours to temple goers nor is this food allowed to be left on the premises. Any food arrangements for a private function are the direct responsibility of the hirer and at the Hirers own risk. The Temple is not liable to prosecution if an accident occurs during hire of our facilities Kitchen and dining room
A deposit of £25 must be paid in advance of hiring the kitchen. This deposit will not be returned if the kitchen is not returned in a clean and tidy condition. • Not more than five people are allowed in the kitchen at any one time . • Children are not allowed in the kitchen. • Shoes should not be left in the doorway between the kitchen and the prayer hall. • Aprons must be worn by all workers. • During cooking, one person must be designated in charge. • All pots pans and utensils must be cleaned after use --The cleanliness of these must be approved by the pundit or any other executive committee member. • The floor must be swept and mopped. • All stainless steel surfaces must be cleaned, including the backboards Dining room tables must be cleaned. • Dining room chairs must be cleaned and placed on tables. • The dining room floor must be mopped and cleaned. • All excess food and unused material and drinks,plates etc must be removed and taken home at end of hire. • All corridors must be swept and free of rubbish at end of hire. • All rubbish must be disposed off by the hirer. Prayer Hall
A deposit of £25 must be paid in advance of hiring the Prayer Hall This deposit will not be returned if the prayer hall is not returned in a clean and tidy condition. • You are not allowed to stick anything to the walls • All monies collected during Aarti, or Ardas must tbe put in the donation box • Any Puja set up done must be removed after the religious ceremony. • You must remove every item you have brought in when finished • The carpet must be cleaned before end of hire period • Any chairs needed must be brought in from the main hall /dining room and returned there after use in a clean condition. • All corridors must be swept and free of rubbish at end of hire. • Any religious books, or other paraphanelia should not be displayed or distributed in the Temple without authorisation in advance from the committee Main Hall A deposit of £100 is to be paid in advance of hiring. This deposit will not be returned if the Main hall is not returned in a clean and tidy condition. • You are allowed to set up in advance at a cost of £15 per hour. • You are not allowed to stick anything on the walls without prior authorisation. • Hirers respnsibility to ensure children are not allowed on stage unsupervised. • Food is not allowed upstairs in the balcony area. • All tables and chairs used, must be wet cleaned and returned back. • The whole floor must be swept at end of hire and any spillages cleaned. • All rubbish must be removed and placed in the rubbish bin.Only three bags are allowed per hire and any excess bags must be disposed off at the civic amenity site. • All corridors must be swept and free of rubbish at end of hire. • The front entranceway and stairwells must be free of rubbish at end of hire. • The flooring is new and no items should be dragged on this floor. • High heels not allowed. • Enough care should be taken to ensure that floor is covered where there is likely to be spillages of water and Kanku(TILLAK). • Havans and Diyas should not be placed on the floor.
